Setting Ram

Ok just a quick one.
What is the point, if there is one of changing the memory from 800 down to 667 in the Bios ?
A lot of people suggest doing this but i dont really understand why ? My MoBo uses untied overclocking anyway so it wouldnt make any differance as far as ratio's goes or does it ?

From my point of view - its down to preferences really. On my last setup i ran my ram(stock 800) in sync with fsb (which gave ddr660) with 4-4-4-12 timings at 1.8v and it was no different(performance-wise) than running it at ddr980 with 5-5-5-15 at 1.95v So in my situation where there was no visible difference i went with the "slower" and cooler option as i dont see a point in stressing one component to maximum if theres no benefit from it.
