Hello, a noob question for a noobie. should I set my kingston 1x8 2400 mhz RAM to its default 2133mhz speed? I bought a 16gb kit and I think I should sell my old RAM. I've turned on the xmp profile (set it to 2400mhz) on the old ram but I just wanted to know if I should attach the ram again and turn off the xmp profile.
(should it be that my mobo's bios is the only thing that's using the xmp profile and whenever I remove my ram it is already set to default speed?)

Solution
The speed choice is controlled by the motherboard. The DIMMs have no "current" clock speed memory. All the DIMMs have is the list of possible speeds.

So it's okay to sell out my RAM without doing what I've said..

Another question if I may, is it ok to sell someone with the same RAM as I have for him to have 2x8 and turning the xmp profile with both memory modules.
