[SOLVED] setting up a 2nd internal HDD, with complications

just from how-to pages on google, i've figured out how to install a second internal drive, it's not that hard.
however, then we throw in the aformentioned complications:

1: the internal drive i would like to install is a 2 TB HDD, and the boot disk from my previous desktop, a Windows 7 machine
2: my new desktop is running Windows 10, and has a built-in 500 GB SSD
3: if possible, i would like to avoid formatting my 2 TB drive, as i do not possess any other drives large enough to back up to

Boot to BIOS and go to Boot options and make sure the drive you want to boot from (the Win 10 drive) is selected as primary boot disk.
