setting up backup hdd with ssd booting windows issue

So, I took out my hdd, I installed an ssd, I installed windows 10 onto ssd, grabbed my essential drivers, put the hdd back into the computer, I wiped the drive completely and formatted the hdd as a GPT drive. The hdd shows under disk management, no partitions, nothing on it but windows is not showing the drive at all.. what am I missing here??

do I run the simple volume wizard?

Right-click on unallocated space and create new simple volume.

thanks a lot, was messing with it for a while had to use a third party software just to wipe the drive.. not surprised such a small step held me up heh
