Question Setting up dual display - add in video card needed?

Right. We have Dell Optiplex 3020 PCs in our office. The Big Guy wants to run dual monitors. The monitors we have only support DVI-D and VGA. Supposedly, the Optiplex will only support dual monitors if one is VGA and the other is DisplayPort. Too bad the E2214H Dell monitors that came with the Optiplexes only have VGA and DVI-D ports.
The spec sheet says the unit will only take half height cards, which apparently includes the bracket height. If we snag a video card, will it need to have dual DVI or VGA ports or can we get a single port card and be able to use dual monitors?
