I recently installed XP on a computer and installed all the drivers via flash drive, but it won't detect the ethernet connection. The motherboard comes with the jack on it, and I have checked the cable, it works on my computer. The steps I took to set up the connection were

  • Control panel
    Network and Internet connections
    Network connections
    Create a new connection
    Connect to the Internet
    Manually
Broadband connection that is always on
Then it says it's finished, but no connections appear and I still cannot use the net.

check device manager in your network connection there if theres a power management section untick the allow windows to

turn off to save power--its stupid why its ticked by default

Why would this even be an option... Thank you .-.
