Setting up Multiple Monitors

I'm building my first PC, I have multiple 1080p monitors that take VGA and HDMI. I'm looking at graphics cards and at the most I'm seeing something like this:

Ports
1 x HDMI
1 x DisplayPort
2 x DVI

What would be the best way to use 2 monitors with these ports? What if I wanted to use 3 or 4?

There is not much difference between quality, HDMI carries sound, and is the same quality as DVI. I don't have experience with Display ports but there should not be much of a difference.

Okay, but I'm wondering what the best way to set up multiple displays would be.
