Hi

I'm about to build a PC inside the Phanteks enthoo evolv case (my first build). I've read that Phanteks do an LED strip which plugs straight in to the case and allows you to control the colour. I want to place an LED strip along the top, along the right side and on across the bottom.

My plan is to get a single 2m strip and cut it to three separate lengths to achieve this. My question is, what do i need to do this? As far as i can tell the Phanteks strip doesn't come with any connectors or anything. Also, does anyone know if there is just a single connection on the case to plug LEDs in to? If so then how would i go about plugging the three separate strips in?

Apologies if these are stupid questions with obvious answers but like i said, first build.

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Solution
To have a controllable lightshow in your case, you need a Phanteks Evolv ATX TG (Tempered Glass) case since it supports the LED strips. Regular Evolv ATX doesn't support LED strips.

To have 3 separate strips of LED, buy a Phanteks LED starter kit and 400mm LED expansion strip.
info & specs: http://www.phanteks.com/PH-LEDKT.html

All Phanteks LED strips come with connectors. Just plug them into single row and you're good to go.

For connecting the LED strips, see case manual; page 9 (RGB LED control) for LED control button functions and page 10 (RGB LED strip) for connecting the LED strips.

Awesome! Thanks a lot bro! Luckily was planning to get the tempered glass version anyway. Didn't realize the LED controller was exclusive to that model and so didn't mention. Thanks again.

Hey man

Sorry to hassle you again. Just wondering what you meant by "plug them into single row"? Can you just like plug them in to each other? And would it be possible to do that with two 1m strips and a single 400mm strip? I wanna completely cover the length of the top nd bottom lol. The 400mm strips would leave about 100mm uncovered.

Cheers man

What i mean though is are there already connectors on the 1m strips that will allow me to simply plug them in to each other? I won't have to solder the strips together or anything like that?

Yeah i looked at pics but could only see a connector on one side. After zooming right in on the image you just linked me to though i think i can maybe see a little white socket on the end. Does that mean if i were to cut the 1m strips to size then i'd be removing that connector too?

Sorry to keep asking more and more questions by the way. I just want to be absolutely sure that what i'm buying will work out. They're fairly expensive for what they are.

There are connectors in both ends.

I don't see much point in cutting them. Better leave extra slack into your LED loop.

Also, are you absolutely sure that if you cut one and solder a connector to it, it will work later on? Since if it doesn't work, you can't return it to store because you cut it in half.

Btw, tuning for eyecandy is never cheap. Be it the PCs or cars.

Yeah i'm not eager to cut them if it means soldering, a lot of room for error with my lack of experience. I'm just being a bit obsessive maybe about getting the strips to match the exact lengths of case.

Maybe it would just be best if i bought a single 2m strip and stuck it along the top, down the side and along the bottom and then cut off the excess. I just would have rather had the strip bending and kinda sticking out on the corners of the edges like i've seen in some videos.

What a fantastic answer!
