Greetings everyone. I have been building PCs for years, like most of you. I have always used MSI motherboards in my builds.
I have also avoided Wi-Fi in everything in my life, including all my PC builds, and have absolutely zero experience with Wi-Fi. I have a cable modem which runs to a trendnet cable router, so both my PC and PS4 are hardwired. I do, however; tend to go over my mobile data limit on my mobile phone every month for not having Wi-Fi, and guests to my house often complain (well not really) about the lack of Wi-Fi. So I decided on this build to get a motherboard with built in Wi-Fi, and here we are.

Build is finished, everything runs perfect. But I have no idea how to setup the Wi-Fi. I have screwed in the antennae, but I see no settings in the bios for setting up Wi-Fi, nor can I find any information in the (better than usual!) user guide supplied with the motherboard. So, if anyone could help me out setting this up, I would be forever grateful. Thanks a million!

WiFi routers are cheap, so just get one. I have a $40 one, and a $15 trendnet as a backup just in case.

To set up the wifi hub is simple 5 minute thing. Just connect it via ethernet wire first to your PC. The instructions will give you an address (usually http://192.168.0.1/ ), and from there you can enable the wifi & set up the password and security.

edit: My house has thin walls so I can afford to be cheap on wifi routers. Spend according to your house & use-case.
I do not want a router with WiFi, I just want to use the WiFi supplied with my motherboard. I was just stating what I was already using.

Can anyone help with this problem? Have I provided enough information?

WiFi on the motherboard is used to connect to a WiFi router. I hope you weren't planning on using it as the wifi hub.

As for activating the wifi, it is a simple driver installation which windows should do automatically. Simplest way to make sure the WiFi on your motherboard is enabled is to just go the website and find & install the latest driver for it.

Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters to make sure the device was installed.

Thank you! As I said, I am completely ignorant of how wi-fi works, and I did assume it (the motherboard) would be the 'hub'. That's okay though, because I never used wifi, so I'm not missing anything, thanks!

To be clear that I understand correctly, my telephone (or my guests telephones) will not be able to use wi-fi in my home unless I also have a wireless router (which I have no plans on getting); correct?
