Setting up win10 remote desktop on ipad?

Ive done this 3 or 4 times now and never had issues with my app or settings on my pc. I used ipconfig, put my ipv4 address into the app, and it worked. Now my ipv4 doesnt work, my ipv6 doesnt work, and neither does my hostname. This is an issue across 2 different apps. When i google "what is my ip" i get something way different than what ipconfig says. Big surprise though, that info doesnt work either. Ive been messing with this for 4 days and its really annoying because i see no reason for it not to work. I have remote desktop enabled on my pc, and i have connected to it multiple times. Both devices are on the sane 5g band of my wifi. WTF is my issue?

EDIT: i opened a specific port for use when i want to connect remotely while not at home, but neither app seems to have a setting to specify which port to use

When you check on your IP with an external site, it will not show you the IP of your computer but the external network connection that faces the internet. You want the internal network IP to connect to the system.

Did you verify the IP on the computer is still the same as you used? It can change.
