Hello to everyone, how are you all doing? I sincerely hope fine.

I'm new to setting up servers so i looked around on the internet and the only forum open-minded enough to tolerate individuals like me that i found is the Tom's Hardware Community. Therefore, let me thank you all in advance for the help and time you'll invest in helping me. Once again, thanks to you all.

Ok. Here's my situation: I used to have a dell tower edge server running Win xp pro connected to 2 win xp pro computers and 1 vista home ed computer. The server's main function was to serve as a host for Quickbooks. However, as quickbooks keeps upgrading its version, the server has gotten slow and there is not enough room to increase the RAM memory past 1GB. Also, the computer running Vista Home Ed keep having issues with quickbooks that have not been fixed to this day. As a result, i installed Win Xp pro SP2 instead and haven't gotten any issues. And last week i ordered the HP Proliant ML110 G6 iCoreX3430 server because of the RAM memory options to increase up to 8 GB and the speed of the processor. I already installed Windows Server 2008 R2 with all the updates.

Now, i'm humbly asking if there is anyone with experience willing to guide me through the steps necessary for setting up the server, connecting the 3 computers and setting up quickbooks enterprise for access and use to and from the 3 computers.

Thanks in advance to all of you for trying.

Don't worry dude, no need to be so cynical about your advice. We're all here to learn and don't bother typing if all that will come from your so smart brain is an underhanded response such as the one posted.

Anyways, i thank everyone who bothered to read my message and honestly from their experience knew that i must go it alone to get it; and i already did it all. I installed the Win Server 2008 R2, create a new forest & domain, installed all the required features and roles needed to allow users access, remote desktop connection, set up the active directory, the terminal services, the permissions, the users & computers account.

Sincerely and humbly from the depth of my heart, i thank you all for all your unspoken support, either yo know it or not.

ONCE AGAIN, THANKS TO ALL AND GODSPEED FELLOWS.

Hello Battozai,
I am a newbie in this area and I have recently gotten the server all set up but really really unsure as to the correct steps to get the network linked correctly and storing the files on the server. Please any help would be appreciated. Do you perhaps have a blog on those steps? Thanks for your time.
