Hi,

I would like to start recording some voice overs, songs and such at home.

I would like to know what should i look for?
What mic?
What audio card?
Is an onboard sound card sufficient? Was targeting the 450 Tomahawk motherboard.

Budget is flexibile, but i would look for a mid tier setup.

Thank you!

For the sound card, I wouldn't worry about spending the money on it yet until you start making money off of your hobby to fund it.

As for the mic you would want to choose between a condensor or a dynamic mic, personally I like the warmer feeling of the condensor and can suggest the Rode NT2A, not exactually entry leave though :)

Thank you for answering!

I do not plan to make money from this. It is just for my entertainment.

But i would like to be able to record sound ( voice, guitar ) and mix them into songs and such with adequate software.

Is there maybe a cheaper recommended mic other than that? I can not find that one here and it is more expensive than i thought.

Thank you!
