Setup is larger than the Game itself

Hey ppl i just wanna ask u that i have download skyrim cause i played it before and deleted without completing it. So when i downloaded it was 21.3 gb size of the setup but after installation i saw that the games was just 13.9 gb including mods. So i am confused that how is it possible that setup makes the game 10 gb larger.

A bit odd to say the least.

Normally it`s a case of when you download a game the set up or install of it is smaller in physical size as you know Mk.
Because a lot of the files are archived or compressed then expanded when installing the game to a hard drive.

Unless there were multiple paths or directory's created during the install of the game that are in fact not installed under the root directory of the install.

That`s about all I can think of.

For example it may of created a set of folders that are not found or located in the program files x86 directory.
But also the Program files directory.

Or windows system 32 directory of windows and also the SYSwow64 folder.

For example a 32 bit version of the game or 64 bit version of the game.

In fact the install may contain a 32 bit version of the game for install and a 64 bit version also.
Depending on what version of os it detects you have such as a 32 bit or a 64 bit os version of windows.

That would explain why the install file is larger than the actual game install.
And is more likely the case as to why it is larger in size for the install package come to think of it MK.

It makes the most sense if you think about it.
One version for a system running a 32 bit windows os.
And another running a 64 bit windows os.
