Setup sep network at home for lab work

I have 9 PC's including notboks and two servers. I'd like to separate the two networks using one modem (Boardband connection). I have many routers and switching to use but I'm not sure this works.

So describe how you want to set it up, just two subnets? What will be on each of the subnets? Will all subnets connect to the Internet or only some? File sharing between subnets?
