how can i login via vpn from windows 7 to my work server

You will need to know a lot of technical details about the VPN connection itself.
But you can start by going to Start | Control Panel | Network and Sharing Center | Set up a new connection | Connect to a Work Place

And then you will need to enter specifics from there. Nobody can really help you with that unless you have a specific technical question about setting up a particular type of VPN connection.
