Several keys on my laptop keyboard are being mapped to Alt + F4, I used a keyboard tester to find out which keys were causing it to happen and they seem to be quite random. They are (',g,f5,f6,esc). I am currently using a keyboard remapper to disable alt + f4 whenever I press any of these keys, however pressing shift along with these keys will cause alt f4 to happen regardless. Is there something wrong with my keyboard or this a software/malware problem?

I would try a clean boot and see if it still happens. Read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any Microsoft services or Windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

If it stops, its likely one of your start up programs is the cause, I would slowly re add them and see if you can figure out which it is. I would guess its likely in their options

See if same thing happens in safe mode

What make/model laptop is it?

I can't find /g but since laptop uses the default windows 10 keyboard drivers, these other keys should do something, not ALt F4 though

F5 = Refresh the active window
F6 = Cycle through screen elements in a window or on the desktop
Escape = Stop or leave the current task (which is close to Alt F4

don't use Ctrl Alt Shift F4 as it shuts down all open windows

I can't locate a use for shift alt F4 but given Alt F4 and Ctrl Shift Alt F4 close things, I suspect it is just doing its job

The yellow highlighted keys are what is read by the keyboard when i press g. is there a way to remap all keyboard bindings to default or something?

Keyboard settings tied to language settings. I can't find a simple way to reset keyboard layout but maybe choosing another, making it default, and then swapping back to normal one again will fix it?

Go to settings/Time & Language
Then Region & language
click on your default language and choose options
click on Add a keyboard and choose from the list (If you in US, US International QWERTY might be an ideal to swap to temporarily
to switch which is default, just click on it

You can also try method 1 here - https://www.wikihow.com/Reset-a-Keyboard

I tried to change my keyboard from English (Singapore) to English (US) and it still had this problem, should I reformat my entire pc to fix this or something? Or is this a hardware issue?

Not yet.

Try making a new local account on PC and see if it happens to it as well - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/4026923/windows-10-create-a-local-user-or-administrator-account

If it doesn't happen, login into normal user, copy the contents of that users folder onto new ones at C\users\username and make it admin. Then it easy enough to set up browsers again. login steam if you use it) and maybe set up ONedrive (once again, if you use it). Takes 15 minutes max.

I had to swap to a local account last year sometime, windows 10 users seem easy to break.

Think my laptop keyboard is busted, I tried to reformat the PC using the windows media creation file on a USB and after reformat it still had keys mapped to ALT+F4. I guess its a hardware issue? But it's so weird for keys to be mapped so specifically to ALT+F4
