Good time of day, guys!

Having an issue with my OS... after recent update (Fall Creators' Update) my computer became super laggy... on start everything looks fine and dandy but later it starts to lag and eventually goes absolutely out of hand..

In an hour sound can start stuttering, and leaving my machine to sleep (when monitors only turn off) can take up to 3 minutes for them to light up again, you know... when you wiggle your mouse they should instantly light up.

I can't. figure out what it is...

I tried looking deeper into the Task Manager to see what process eats up so much power, but everything looks normal there.

Disabled everything possible on Start Up, still nothing.

Provided 100 extra GB for RAM with an idling HDD ~ nothing.

Everything started after recent update it seems.

Also... my machine can not launch with a keyboard tap after I put her to hibernate. If I turn her off I can start her with keyboard though. But if hibernating ~ I have to disconnect it from socket for a few seconds (you know... for capacitors to discharge and all that), and only then it can start and only from case power button, not keyboard buttons, like it should be able to.

I read it can be a BIOS problem. Maybe it causes all this in conjunction with recent FCU???

Well, you did mention "hibernation" twice in the OP lol. Odd to use that word when you don't have hibernation active. Anyhow . . .

If nothing productive is happening when it should (ie "lag") and there's no sign of excessive cpu utilization, next step is to look for disk activity. If the OS is involved in disk error recovery, often nothing seems to get reported so you can see it . . . everything just slows way down.

If the hardware all seems OK, if possible I'd do a recovery next to "erase" the update. After that, maybe then reinstall the OS.

Thanks for response, Twoboxer!

Didn't find any info on Hibernation file on my computer... seems like it was always off. (only restart, shut down and sleep as options!)

Approximately... it takes 1 hour to start lagging real badly.... mouse clicks only respond after 10~20 seconds, hahaha...

I guess i'll have to reinstall my OS. I just wanted to know what the problem is, could be valuable to someone in my situation, who knows.
