My computer crashed yesterday and then the icons on the desktop disappeared. I did a search on Google and I found a website that suggested doing an sfc scan. I did that, and I got a message saying that corrupted files were found that could not be repaired, and to check the CBS.log for more details. I've uploaded the log file to my Dropbox account. http://

If anyone here could help me out or point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

First, make sure that you have right clicked on your desktop, selected view, and ensure that "show desktop items" is checked. If that is already checked, try:
In an administrative command prompt, run "Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" this command will search your winsxs folder for any missing files, and if it finds them it will either replace them with a local copy or download them from windows update and place them. SFC just looks through your system folders and checks the integrity of certain files, and if it finds any mismatches in what it expects, it tries to replace them from winsxs. The problem you are having is that those files in winsxs are not available, which the dism command should fix.
