SFC /scannow not working

Recently I ran this command in command prompt
sfc /scannow
and it said this

C:\Documents and Settings\Shahryar>sfc /scannow
Windows File Protection could not initiate a scan of protected system files.

The specific error code is 0x000006ba [The RPC server is unavailable.
].

How to fix this?🙁

Try a reboot?
