I'm running sfc /scannow in safemode on a laptop (not an ancient one - Core i3).
It ran very, very slowly, taking something like 48 hours to get to the message "Verification 100% complete." It's been sitting there saying that for something like 12 hours.
Am I correct in thinking that sfc should come up with a further message, telling me that errors were found / were not found / were fixed?
In Task Manager 'windows problem reporting' is running (less than 1% CPU, 1.6Mb memory), with other process (Windows system & system interrupts) taking up no more than 3% CPU and 25% memory). So not a great deal happening. I started sfc in the first place because the laptop was failing to install MS windows updates.
I'm not in a rush so could wait another 48 hours, but...
