Question Shall I peel off Solidigm SSD M2 sticker before mounting on motherboard

I recently purchased the following Solidigm SSD (link below) and it comes with a label on top of it. I could not find informaiton on the sticker type in the manual. Could somebody please recommend whether I should keep its top label or shall I peel it off, before mounting it on the motherboard and attaching the thermal pad/heatsink from the motherboard to the SSD?

If the sticker does not conduct heat, keeping the sticker may result heat dissipation issue.

If it is recommended to peel it off, does it void the warranty?

You may void the warranty by removing stickers. There is at least one thread here where a warranty claim was denied because the sticker had been removed. So be careful.

If you want to play install the m.2 with the sticker.
Do not use the mobo heatsink.
Run your stuff and watch the temps.
If it stays in a good range leave it alone.

If it gets too warm install the mobo heatsink and retest.

Thanks for comments. I did not mount the heatsink on top of the SSD and it seems that the PC is working for the moment, without heating issue. I will keep watching the temperature of SSD. Anyway, to see the SSD heating issue, one might need to massive write/read on SSD to increase its temperature. Any other suggestion?

Based on Amazon, it has 5 years of warranty and it is thermally optimized to avoid throttling: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9855VGS

No, original one is heat conductive and removing it also voids warranty, just not worth removing it. Only if there0s a paper one sellers stick on top with price or other data. I have seen some with a paper sticker with seller brand on it, that one should be taken off.

I suppose you could grab a benchmark tool and pound on the ssd see how hot it gets.

If the sticker does not conduct heat, keeping the sticker may result heat dissipation issue.

The sticker conducts enough heat to be effective given the improved power efficiency of these SSDs. We test these with the sticker attached, just as they come out of the box. For many typical workloads, a heatsink is not needed (but your motherboard retention bracket / heatsink is just fine to use as-is).
