Hello Guys

I built a gaming PC around 5 years ago and i'm quite inexperienced. I tried to play apex legends yesterday (can I run it said It would be okay) but it was very choppy/laggy.

this brings me to my question.. Is my PC outdated or just needs some touching up... If I need a new one I will probably build it over the year but I'm hoping you guys tell me I just need a new GPU and Power supply

What upgrades would guys recommend

LG GH24NS90.AUAA50B 24x SATA Bare Internal DVD Rewriter - Black

In Win E-ATX GRone Full Transparent Tower Side Gaming Case - Gunmetal Grey

Seagate 3TB 3.5 inch 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA3 Hard Drive

Toshiba DT01ACA0100 1TB 3.5 inch SATA 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI Sound Card

The i5 3570k should be perfect for Apex. It's actually the reccommended CPU for that game.

I had an i5 3570k in my HTPC and could easily run games like Forza Horizon 3 @ 1080 on medium/high settings.

1: You already have an aftermarket CPU cooler, overclock it. That CPU was bred for overclocking.

2: Upgrade your video card to either an Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb or an AMD RX 580 8gb and you'll double your performance in games.

(FYI: I've read reports that AMD cards have better luck with APEX for now until Nvidia releases newer drivers)

That's not a bad system, the HD 7850 has aged at this point though. You can be fine with just a GPU upgrade. Verify if your power supply is capable of handling a better GPU before hand.

Your next GPU will depend on your available budget.

Thanks for the quick response!

To be honest I haven't thought to much about my budget. But I don't want to spend £150 to have minimal improvement (If I would get a big improvement great), Id rather spend more so it would last 5 years. I don't really want to breach £250 but If I have to I will.

I have looked on amazon and there is so many I cant decide or due to not knowing worried about the wrong purchase.

Would it help to run my games through the SSD as well? the only reason I don't Is I worry it will slow my system down as windows runs of it... I'm guessing a new CPU isn't needed atm? I was looking at the AMD Ryzen 5 or 7 but then its a new Motherboard etc etc .

Thanks

Okay thanks.. I haven't played apex yet (due to the lag or whatever) but a nice well rounded card would be ideal for all gaming situations (not bothered by 4k)

Are these the cards you are talking about? (there seems to be a few variables) Sorry I know I sound dumb :ROFLMAO:

There is a computer fair near me on Sunday can you get good deals at them or not really?

Thanks again!!
