Hello Andrea,

I don't know if you can set up your own server. I imagine you would
have to get the server-side code Activision created, or somehow
reverse engineer it. I do not have a clue how you would do the latter.
To do the former I imagine you would have to contact Activision.

Good luck (you'll need it) - Tom (Greetings from Seoul, S. Korea)

yeah i could reverse it but i don't think it would be legal...
contacting activision could be the best solution, you worked with them
right? is it easy to handle a thing like this?

Just out of curiosity . . . . why would you want to put it on a server. Why
not just install it on your computer. It's an excellent game for playing
solo . . . but if you want to play online, why not play against real people.
The NMJL has an online game that you can play for $30/year. Check it out at
http://www.nmjl.org/software/

It's easy to contact Activision. I'm not a programmer (I'm a game
designer/producer) so I wouldn't be able to set up a game server
myself (I'd have to hire somebody to do it, if I could get the
necessary source code).

Shanghai Second Dynasty DOES still work online, but there's only one
server that still works. (Since there is one that still works, I don't
know why anybody'd want to go to all the trouble of setting up a new
one.)
