Shaoris Fell, Wizards Apprentice is dead (or is he?)

Got to the wizards apprentices room and fought him. As was expected he
gave in and started talking to me. About half way through the
conversation he died. No-one was attacking him, he just died. Except as
soon as I chose the next conversation item, he jumped back up and kept
on talking. If I moved the mouse over him, his status was still set as
dead. As soon as the conversation was over, he fell down again.

Kind of strange. Anyone else find this? Not that I cared, I got what I
wanted out of him.

I have no idea exactly what would do this, since I don't know what you were
using to fight him....but if his max health dropped for some reason, that
might do it. He also might have had some status effect that was draining
health somehow, and pushed him down below minimum.

Or he could have had a heart attack, for all I know. :\ Just throwing out
ideas.

I figured it could have been poison, but after checking my companions
etc afterward, I ruled it out. Everyone seemed to using normal (i.e. no
residual effects) magical weapons.

Oh well.

He's a wizard. He probably buffed himself with an Endurance spell or
some other spell that raised his CON. When it wore off, he kicked the
bucket. Kind of funny, actually. (Except when it happens to my PC, which
it has once-in-a-while...)

Having played through the tower a few times I'd say that the "wild magic"
effects have been the most common cause of the apprentice dying after giving
up for me.

Note: Just because you don't have any lasting effect spells or weapons
doesn't mean that the wild magic effect of the tower won't change the
effect.

Secondary damage from poison, perhaps??

Endurance has a much longer duration than that. I've died from
an expired endurance once but when resting, not just after a battle.

Well, the Potion of Endurance only lasts 3 game hours (about 6 real
minutes), and it's quite possible for me to have more than one fight
during 3 hours. And I always die from it wearing off while *in* the
fight, I always heal right after a fight, so that's not a problem. And,
yes, I've also had it happen when resting.
