Hi here were I work we have a router that connects to a Netgear switch that contains 5 Desktops and 1 Shared Copy Machine all connected to either the router or the switch connected to the router. In my boss's office he has a current ethernet line that comes from the switch and connects to a computer which controls his security system. We now want to put a second desktop in his office for him to use for emails and printing. Instead of running another line into his office, is it possible to connect another switch to split the line and still have the option to print and access the copy machine that is on the network?

So in all the desktop connected to the second switch should still be able to print on the shared printer? Do you recommend connecting the two switches separately to the router, or is it ok to connect one switch to another switch?
