Hi,

I don't have many knowledge about networking so excuse me if my question is trivial. I would like to be able to share a single 4G connection to up to 50 users. Most 4G wifi routers give up to 32 connections (with an exception of one that gives 64).

I was thinking about getting a router with 32 connections (eg. Huawei E5172) and connect to it a Wireless Access Point. Do you know if this will allow me to support more than 32 users?

I don't think the asus or tplink routers that support the 4g devices have a limit. The limitation more is going to be how many device you can hook to a single wireless connection. This is the same limit if you used a 4g wan or if you used a cable modem. It depends how active the users are. You will not get 50 users on a single router/AP if they are even somewhat active. You will likely need 3 if not 4 or more AP for that many users.

The limitation on the 4g I suspect will be more how much money you can afford. There are almost no 4g plans that allow unlimited bandwidth for a fixed rate from tethered devices. I know the rate charged in the US is about $10/gig so it does not take long to run a huge bill with 50 users
I think shared means shared so the more you got on the less you got to use you only got so much bandwidth to play with so if your on it alone its all good start adding to that and it gets reduced and slower... now this is how I look at it and its just my opinion on how it works... good luck

Certainly yes, I am aware of the limitations. I was only wondering if at all this is technically possible
