i am having a tata docomo photon 3g usb modem for connecting to internet for my desktop pc. i also have a tplink tl wr740n wireless router. i am trying to share the dialup connection over the wifi router with internet connection sharing however i am unable to connect to internet from my mobileover wifi. i connect the desktop lan and router's wan port with lan cable. i have applied the settings given on this link :http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/8358-43-wireless-sharing-dialup-internet-connection. please help me setup the router. i am having a windows 8 desktop pc.

That is a very old document and things have likely changes. Go to microsoft site and lookup ICS internet connection sharing. They have very good examples of how to do this. The device you have is not a dialup modem anyway although that is what ICS was originally designed for

Now it still may not work it is dependent on the driver for the 3g modem to have the option to share the connection. Many do but not all have this option available.

i have already tried using ICS and the dialup connection shows it is shared. but i am not able to access it through my wifi router

Actually there was a peoblem with windows 8z. Dont know but whenever i enabled my ICS i was not able to acces the internet. So i tried using windows 7 sharing the dialup connection and it worked fine..
