Sharing documents and applications between operating systems?

So I'm getting Windows 10 in the future and I want to make a dual boot between Win7 and Win10, but I want to be able to know if it's possible to synchronise documents, libraries, folders etc between the both of them. What I'm thinking is having a 3rd drive where apps and documents and such will be stored for both OS's but I don't know if it will cause some kind of confliction between them. Fiddling library shortcuts on the left of windows explorer suggests that the save locations of those can be changed, but I don't much else apart from that.

Solution
Documents, pictures & music files you can share between both versions of Windows from one location, but not applications.

Applications must be installed on both Windows versions separately.

Additionally, you may find some applications you've had for a while won't run on Windows 10. Where that's the case, you'll need to update that application to the latest version.
