Sharing files with windows 7

I recently put windows 8 consumer review on a deskbook pc , Its running fine but refuses to see my windows 7 server, all files are shared on the windows 7. windows 8 pc not showing up in homegroup on windows 7 pc any advice!

Double check all of your network settings such as making sure the pc is a member of the same workgroup etc. use cmd prompt to try and ping the server to see if it can see it on your network .
