That has been there since before the patch.

I hear that ifyou start the game by clicking the short cut on the DVD
(via My Computer) this does not happen. Apparently a copy protection
issue or something.

That's strange, because SH3 puts an icon on my desktop during installation.
I used that icon before the patch without issue, then afterwards it was a
problem. Did an uninstall then reinstall and repatch and all is well. :)

Yeah, wierd. But like I said, it was a topic before the patch came
out. Doesn't make sense, but if you put the DVD in (or click My
Computer) and get the splash screen and use that link to lauch, you
don't get that effect. <shrug>
