As the title suggests I’m on the hunt for a shorter in height GPU to fit comfortably in my HTPC case. No overclocking or serious tweaking, I just plan to drop this card in and use it vanilla. I don’t care about RGB or how it looks, the case is a sleeper meant to blend in with AV equipment (but if it has bonkers RGB that’s ok too, it will be hidden). I prefer reliability and quieter fans over a few more FPS.

The MSI Ventus & Zotac Trinity cards both will fit. Either the 3080 or 3080 ti variants. The Zotac is noticeably cheaper in my region at the moment, but I have no experience with these cards.

Any reason to go with/avoid one of these?

Any other shorter brands people recommend?

Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Even in cramped conditions you could always set the power limits lower to get the fans to behave more reasonably. Lots of people have shown you can strip like 100W off the power and still get 85% the performance.
