[SOLVED] Short Beeps after pressing power button

Recently I got an old HP Compaq dx2310 . at first it booted fine, everything was working. I took the PC and rebuilt it again using the same parts.
but this time, it won't boot anymore.it beeps 1 short and 1 long and then turned off.so i searched the web and I thought it might be a memory problem. I tried cleaning the ram sticks, reseated it, but it just wont boot.so I took 2 ram sticks from another computer (a dell OptiPlex 360) and used the RAM. This time though, it just a repeating short beeps and wont stop by itself. Can anyone tell me what is the problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You will need to identify the current motherboard and version.

Then find the applicable User Guide/Manual and refer to the troubleshooting section for the beep codes (shorts, longs, patterns) to determine what component may be the problem.

but this just a short beep with no pattern
it is just there if i turn on the pc
no output from motherboard

Have you tried another known working mouse and keyboard?

Any other peripherals attached?

Install a new CMOS battery.
