Short bespoke PSU cables....help...!!

I purchased 3 bespoke cables for my set-up recently, unfortunately two of the cables are too short to reach their destination, the 24pin and the 8pin, the 6pin reaches, but is a little too taught to be aesthetically pleasing.

My question is:

Can I place an extension cable directly to the PSU, before connecting to the bespoke cables, which will then connect to the motherboard?

Obviously extensions are normally used after the existing cables have come out of the PSU, but I'm trying to get my head around any issues in placing them directly into the PSU as any configuration issues are rectified when they are connected to the bespoke cables which are designed specifically for my PSU.

Thanks for replying Rogue Leader.

If the extension cable is straight like for like at both ends, it would be the exact configuration of that of the PSU connection, being an exact depiction of the original PSU socket, would you see any issues connecting my bespoke cables then?

But how would you do that, if the extension has male pins at both ends, you would not be able to connect the bespoke cables. An extension, by name and design has female at 1 end and male at the other.

The flow would be:
PSU<<[Male]-straight cable-[female]<<[Male Bespoke]-configured for PSU-[Male Bespoke]>>[Female Motherboard]

<M - Extension - F< <M - Configured Cable - M> > Motherboard
PSU <==========< <=======x=======> Motherboard

I'm not sure if my crude depictions give a better idea of what I aim to do, but I do not see what the issue would be to place the extension before or after the configured cable.

Thanks Rogue Leader.

Although I now recognise I have an additional problem, this is a 24pin to 18+10pin, I now have to see if such extensions exist, I think I will have to admit defeat and chalk this down to experience.

Note to self: Just buy the right length cables to begin with.

Well right the connection on the PSU side is separate sometimes, it depends on the PSU. If you're gping to a dell motherboard they have adaptors like that as some Dells have a different pinout.

With that situation you may want to reconsider using the extension.
