After taking apart my system for a cpu cleaning of the thermal paste, i put the system back together only to get a problem. A split second boot, once that happened it doesn't seem to boot for a split second again, until i unplug it from the wall. After reading some post i thought one of my components are dead. So I breadboard the whole thing. Outside of my pc case it turned on perfectly. I checked my bios and everything is being picked up by my motherboard. My conclusion is what could posibly in my case be causing a short? I can provide pictures if needed. My case is the Coolmaster N200 and MB Msi z87 gaming . Please help... :'(

Solution

I dont know what it was but i put it together and it worked after i unplugged my case fan cable from mobo . I had installed my stock cooler thinking my after market cpu cooler was the problem. Today im going to reinstall the aftermarket cooler. Hopefully I get the same results.
Might be the shorts came from the metal standoff of your case. Check it, try to check also the voltage of your CMOS/BIOS battery if there are 3 volts on it. I recommend also to discharge the BIOS using the cmos jumper. Can I see what is the POST error after you power-up?kindly power-up your mobo outside of your case. Now another thing, you can clean your mobo by removing all the parts, processor, RAM, VGA, CMOS battery, and use a lacquer thinner to clean the entire part. Then reinstall all parts and try to power-up. Let me to see what is the POST error

Ok the problem is i'm not getting a post error. The computer doesn't even power on all the way to see any errors. Everything powered on successfully outside of the case. I did some research and could my mobo be shortened by my i/o back panel?

Hi alex, this time I'm only back because of busy schedules, ok that is what I suspected, you're not aware during the time you open you system case. Now a board was shorten through a metal or in a case will cause permanent damage. So what you plan now?For me you need to replace that mobo with the same specs. Then be aware during the installation of the new mobo next time. Experience is the best teacher to us. right?
