Should case fan screwholes be touching case?

My case fan is unable to be screwed fully in when the caseholes are touching the case. I am very sure they are not in the wrong angle either. There's just a sound of plastic chipping and it goes in half way no matter what I do.

Are you 100% sure you are using the right screws? Are there any fans already mounted that don't have this problem? If so, try unscrewing one of their 4 screws and compare with the ones you are experiencing problems with. I am assuming you bought some aftermarket fans, so it could be that the screws that come with them don't fit the case. If so, take 1 or 2 screws from the other fans that came with the case, and use them isntead. Each fan has 4 screws, but you don't really need more than 2 per fan to keep it in place.

So you are trying to use a fan that came with a CPU cooler as a case fan? It might not fit if it's designed specially for the cooler, but I still think that's strange as most coolers have standard fan dimensions so you can buy aftermarket fans.
