Should Cosair h100i gtx's fan always run at full speed?

I bought a corsair h100i gtx but it is making weird noise. I connected it's cable to CPU_FAN and connected the fans to built in fan splitter. Did I do anything wrong?

Make sure the copper plate has good contact with the CPU it should also have a thin layer of thermal paste with no air bubbles and monitor temperatures both at idle and while under stress. The h100i has software for changing fan settings that should have came with the kit.

Try plugging the fans directly into your motherboard's PWM header instead of the pump.

If I connect them to the PWM header they run at full speed. 🙁

What is your core temperature reporting at idle? Depending on ambient temperature it shouldn't be higher than 35-40 C

The temp hovers around 39-40. I'm in UK right now
