Hello! Ive been in the computer world years. I remember when CPU architecture changed and it was a mess. Even if i had a 64 bit CPU i remember i had to have java x86 and x 64 for some games and software to work. It also happened to me with Visual C++ Redistributable. I still test new software, do AI and game a lot and since those days i download all the Java, Visual and Framework packages in both X86 and X64. Should i be installing both or ive been installing the x86 in vain all these years?

only install it when the software ask for it
So in other words there are still software that uses x86 version? Usually is better to have it installed since to avoid any future troubleshooting. Specially with Vial that was issues in the past in both version a lot. Also does it create any issue having the x86 version for current software that only uses the x64?
