CPU: Core 2 Quad Q8300
GPU: GT 730 2GB DDR3
Mobo: Don't know, some random Foxconn
EDIT: Case is a no name mid tower(?)

Your Current system and just drop a newer card into it..
-You might need a molex to pcie adaptor. The EVGA 1060 if you look in the pics has one.
The RX570 is the best cheap card.. Both of these will be cpu-limited with the Q8300 but at least later on when you upgrade the cpu+board+mem+drives, ect. You can resuse the card vs. a too slow GT1030 or RX560, ect.

Some games wont run at all on the Q8300 because it lacks things like SSE4, ect.
It also matters if you have windows 7 X64, or the 32bit version now. If your running XP the lastest from AMD is the FuryX and R9-390X. With Nvidia the newest card to support XP is the GTX960.

It's the DDR3 instead of GDDR5 that slows the GT 730 down.

The GTX650 is pretty good for $37.

Ryzen 3 1200 with a RX570, 2tb seagate. B450 board that can overclock a bit and works with newer cpus.
The HDD has 256mb cache and is one of the faster regular HDD's so it should work ok as a boot drive.
Or course a M.2 Pcie NVME drive for the boot drive is faster but adds a extra $40.
I didn't include a case because i thought you could reuse the one you have now..

The GTX 650 paired with the Q8300, while that might not be the fastest gaming system today, at one time it was considered fast. The GTX650 is close in speed to the old GTX280 and the AMD HD-4870 that were out when the Q8300 was new. So you can play all of the classics that are from those days on it and some of the newer ones that don't have really high system requirements.

Thanks, but I can't reuse anything, I'm going to give my old pc if I buy a new one.
If I add the costs of a hdd and a case to your build it'd total to 26,800 and + 6100 for Windows 10 = 32900 which is 629 USD. Way over my budget.

Honestly, I'd give your old system to the garbage can. Transfer your windows license to the new machine and keep the hard drive and case.

Don't make yourself suffer if you're giving it away for free. Beggars can't be choosers.
