Should I build a new gaming PC, upgrade my current one or get a video game console?

I have no budget but let's say I can spend 400€ or $400

I want to play all AAA titles and upcoming ones

Can I build a new gaming PC with this budget, should I upgrade my current pre-built desktop PC or should I get a PlayStation 4 / Xbox One?

Specs of my current pre-built desktop PC:

Intel Core i3-3220 (3.30 GHz)
8 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 (OEM)
300W power supply
Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I live in Spain and getting an AMD R9 280, a new power supply, a new case and the service is about 350€

I'd upgrade to a good gpu instead of getting a console,your chosen gpu is good,just grab a good 550w psu.

with 8 gigs and the 280 you should be able to play AAA titles fairly well. What is your current motherboard ? I'd go with SPgamer007 and get a better power supply.

I would stick with PC, the next gen consoles aren't all they make out to be, I have r9 270x and it performs well, bf4 looks better on my pc than my xbox one, also using amd fx 6360 cpu, so not sure how that compares to i3? although I have heard intel tend to be the better option for gaming

If it was me, I would upgrade too. Most console are very limited to what they can do. For example, video editing cannot be done on console. So unless you are going purely gaming, if you want to do something else or want something more functional, go to the upgrade path.

But my CPU is not good enough for AAA gaming right? My CPU doesn't pass recommended system requirements for games like Dying Light, Assassin's Creed: Unity, etc, they ask for at least an i5

Well, eventually putting in a new processor is easy, I just did it on my kid's computers. They both have older HP's too. I an mot sure what an i5 costs there, but it's easy to put in later when you can afford it if you find you need it. You should still be able to run things even with below recommended specs,I just don't know what kind of performance you'll get.

I think you should spend your money on an R7 260X or Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti if you are not upgrading that i3. Your i3 won't bottleneck it and you can get solid framerates on AAA games if you did not crank the settings to its maximum settings.

Lshun does have a point, my son has an older intel quad core HP and we added a GTX 750 2 GB card. He did noe even need to upgrade his HP 300w power supply. We did need to buy this adapter for his because it had no extra 6 pin PCIE plugs.

His CPU is an old q9550 and his comp is an HP 6000MT. He can play BF# and 4 on it pretty well at even high settings.
