Should I build overkill Gaming pc???

I'm going to build a gaming pc but I don't know if I should overkill it. I just want to play couple games on the PC such as Planetside 2, LoL and few other games In in the future. Should I get intel i5 4670k or fx 6300 is enough? If I get fx 6300 I can save nearly 200 hundred dollar. I'm planning to buy BenQ MLG monitor (180)

For games like LoL and any other games FX 6300 is good enough. For overkill I would not suggest to do that because a year later you can buy a better cpu for much less money than now because the technology is just going up very big steps forward very rapidly

If You Have Intel Motherboard Already Then I Will Go With I5.
If You Have Am3+ Motherboard Already Then I Will Go With FX 6300.
If You Are Going To Buy A New Motherboard Then I Will Go With I5.

If You Switch To I5 Then You Can Upgrade It And That Upgrade Will Be Noticeable But If You Switch To FX 6300 Then You Cant Upgrade To High Level CPU's.

I5 Is Far Better Than FX 6300 Or FX 8320.
I5 Will Run You Mentioned Games At Better Settings If Compared To FX 6300.
Intel's Upgrade Path Is Better Than Of AMD.

If You Already Have An AM3+ Motherboard Then You Should Go With FX 6300.
FX 6300 Is Enough To Play Your Mentioned Games At Good Settings If Your Other Components Are Good. Then , You Can Later Upgrade To Intel I5 Or I7 Or The Best At That Time.

For PS2 and LoL you should go intel due to their higher IPC. The FX may struggle.

However, you do not necessarily need a 4670K. You could get a 4440 / 4570 and a B series motherboard (like the AsRock B85 Pro4) and be just fine, whilst saving money and still vastly outperforming the FX.

Honestly, the only thing the 8350 is good for over a 4670k is if you do a lot of video encoding or are seriously budget constrained.

If it were up to me I would change a few things here.

I'd drop the K CPU and the Z motherboard. Change it to a Xeon 1230v3 (equivalent of an i7 4770) and a B series motherboard. If not, then an i5 4440 or 4570.

Then, I'd change the RAM to one with CAS 9, not CAS 11. I believe games benefit far more from lower CAS latency than higher clock speeds, so 1600MHz CAS 9 would be better.

If any of this saves any money then I'd change the GPU to a 760 or 280x if possible. An overclockable CPU sucks up unnecessary funds which would be better spent on better gains in the GPU department.

A stock 8350 doesn't bottleneck a 780 let alone an Intel i5 or the e3-1230v3.

Neither a 4570 or Xeon 1230v3 would bottleneck a single GPU, at least not noticeably. The Xeon definitely wouldn't. As of now, sinking money into overclocking doesn't make sense, IMO.

It is OK but just change the ram for some Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3-1600MHz and you'll be fine !
