Should i buy 3000mhz or even 2600mhz ram if I don't plan to oc it for gaming?

I'm building a new rig for the second time ,after 5 years (gtx 760, fx6300, 8 gb ram)

Specs are

Rtx 2060
I5 9600k
16 gb ddr4(2*8gb)
Psu-any 600 watt
Mobo-msi z390 A-pro
Wd blue 250gb ssd Sata lll
Some air cooler for cpu

My doubt is ,if i don't plan on ocing my ram ,is it worth considering to buy a higher mhz ram?
Or does it oc itself like the the gpu and cpu?

The XMP setting on your motherboard, one enabled, will run your RAM as fast as it can (aka auto overclock) so it would be of benefit to purchase the fastest RAM your budget can allow. Within reason.

Check what the motherboard allows, don't for instance go and get 4000mhz RAM if the motherboard can utilize it.

@Stevenjemint Sorry bout that down vote, didn't know you could only do it once.
Btw i would still have to go to the bios settings n switch on the xmp setting for the automatic oc, right? The thing is i don't want to go into that setting.
Also what's the base frequency at which the 3000 or 2666 mhz ram would run at?

Looking at the spec sheet it would suggest that it would default to 2666 as you've said.

Whether or not XMP is on ut of the box im not sure. Its very easy to go in and turn it on however if you do not want to try then you may as wekk get RAM around the 2666 mark and save yourself some money in the process.

Are you planning on overclocking the rest of the system?

Also you mention any 600w. You need to make sure it’s good quality. Quality is important and especially on a gaming pc.
