Hello,
I am playing games on a PC a bought last year for $300 bucks AUD, it has a radeon 6850 1gb Vram and an i7 2600 with 12gb ddr3 ram. My main question was to buy a gtx 1650 super as it lies in the $300 AUD mark or buy a gtx 1660, including to just wait for newer gpus coming from Nvidia? I currently have a 60hz monitor yet when I upgrade my gpu I will consider buying a 144hz monitor.

I'm guessing you have a 1080p monitor? A 1650 super or 1660 is good for 1080p 60 fps, but you'll need a more powerful GPU than that to push a game anywhere close to 1080p 144 fps on anything more than the very lowest settings.

Even then you won't get 144 fps, because the clock speeds of your 2600 are too low. High CPU clock speeds are necessary for high fps.

If it was me, I'd get a 1660 super and call it good for now. If you want higher performance beyond that, you'll have to upgrade most of your current system (a new CPU will require a new motherboard, which will require new DDR4 RAM, etc.)

Yeah true, I will stay with 1080 60hz but I cant go over $300 as my budget, so for that amount of money should I get a 1650 super or a 1660?
