I just ordered an EVGA GTX 680 to replace my 570 and I was wondering if it would be worth it to buy the 3570k aswell? I know with my 2500k at 4.6Ghz my 570 does great vs stock core or even with turbo at 3.8 (may be wrong on turbo speed). I have a gigabyte Ga-z68ap-d3 witch has a pice 3.0 x16 and is IB ready and 8gb ddr3 with xmp1 @1600 and just wanna know if my current setup with the 680 will last for atleast a year or should I buy the IB while I have the money and go to liquid cooled for some future proofing? (I know future proofing is impossible)

Solution
The general consensus is that people who already have a 2500k have little to no reason to upgrade to 3570k, same goes for i7. The ~5% performance improvement for anything other than IGP/QuickSync is not worth it. Overclocking-wise, preliminary signs show IB tends to be more difficult to cool beyond 4.5GHz.

So unless you have a very specific reason to upgrade the CPU, there is no reason to upgrade from 2500k.

It's really not worth the money. You would be spending 300 dollars for only a slight inprovement in performance and better graphics which as a gamer you'renot going to use. BTW where did you find the GTX 680 in stock? I've been looking around and can't find them in stock anywhere.
