hello,
after a long time of a non gaming rig (except for the computer), i desided to spend some money on a mouse, pad, and keyboard.
i'm left handed,so finding a good mouse for me is hard, therefor i stopped looking for one.
now, all that's left is a good keyboard.
i want a mechanical one but i'm afraid of it to be too laud cause i'm playing video games late at night everyday. i'm 16 y\o - i don't want it to bother my parents and sister.
i heard that the cherry MX-brown and black are supposed to be more quiet (like in the Razer Blackwidow stealth - which is my pick for now).

so, bottom line - mechanical or not?

Well, first off, both mice and keyboards have come a long way. There are now many offerings for left handed gaming mice if that is something you are interested in. I have an anker gaming mouse and it is great, AND they make a left handed version of this mouse.

Mechanical keyboards are something that I never really thought about until getting my new system built and setup. I left my wife in charge of picking out whatever mouse and keyboard she wanted for me and gave her a budget. Of course she went over the budget quite a bit, but honestly I am cheap so it was smaller than it should have been.

Anyway, my wife picked out a mechanical keyboard that I absolutely love to use. I like hearing the clicking of the keys because it helps me...

Anyway, my wife picked out a mechanical keyboard that I absolutely love to use. I like hearing the clicking of the keys because it helps me know I am hitting them correctly (and actually helps me know if I misspelled something from the sounds of the keys hitting int the right space on the keyboard, yeah I am weird). I have the louder keys and they are not really that loud to me.

The best suggestion when it comes to keyboards and the sound of the keys is to find someone or a store that has some keyboards for you to test out. Or do try this:
http://www.cmstore-usa.com/mechanical-key-switch-demo-board/

This will allow you to test out the different keys to find what works best for you. It costs $15, but if you purchase a keyboard from them, then you receive a $15 discount...so it can only benefit you.
