Should I buy a new Monitor or Wait for OLED?

After much deliberation I've chosen a few monitors that I find very appealing, the Acer XB270HU, the Asus PG279Q(Maybe next year, still have to save), Dell S2716DG, or the much more affordable Acer XB241H.

But, I got to thinking, if I'm willing to wait so that I can save up for the Asus PG279Q, should I just instead save up and wait for an OLED 144hz Gsync capable monitor? What do you guys think?

I was thinking of just buying the cheapest 144hz gsync capable monitor I could find(XB241H) then just upgrade when the OLED starts permeating through the market. But I could also just stick with my current monitor an HP x2301 a 60hz regular monitor. Would the OLED displays still take awhile to come? So far, there's only Dell AFAIK. The reason I wanted to just wait for an OLED is to skip the whole backlight bleeding problems that some people encounter. I'd rather just spend my money on the most reliable and best results I can get.

Look at current price premium on 27" 1440p, 144/165 Hz GSync.

Yes, OLED is worlds ahead of IPS, but not VA. The problem is OLED's life span. Our enthusiast store isn't selling OLED, because of that reason.

There are plenty of OLED monitors already out, Hollywood has been using them for years already, but consumers won't pay that kind of money...

I'm expecting to see OLED in 3 years+, because LCD's aren't fully developed yet. On the TV side of things, we've gone from a 2500:1 contrast ratio, to about 6000:1 over the course of a couple of years. The only thing missing in that department are wider viewing angles, and "PC gaming" specific features, such as GSync, FreeSync.

I can't even imagine the price premium on an OLED gaming monitor, but there's basically no market for that, because people aren't going to spend 2k+ dollars on a gaming monitor, which right now have to be where it lands, in order to not obsolete the other monitors on the market. So I really don't see that happening anytime soon.

Manufacturers are deliberately improving monitors one step at a time, rather than huge jumps. That's because they make more money that way, and they're a company to make money...

All the best!

That's exactly the reason why I was having trouble deciding if I should wait for OLED, because of the price of that Dell OLED monitor, it was about 5,000 dollars when I saw it. But I was thinking that MAYBE when it does start permeating the market, a lot of cheaper yet high quality
versions would start appearing, but as I said, I'm just being hopeful.

I would have chosen the PG279Q even if I had to save up and buy this next year, but all the backlight bleed complaints I keep reading about it has really given me a second thought about that display. That's why I also added some cheaper 144hz gsync monitors to my shortlist(XB241H, S2716DG). Should I just get one of these more affordable monitors instead of the PG279Q?
