i'm planning to buy a used pc on my countrie's ebay, but i'm not sure yet. it's a i7 4790k, gtx 1070, 16gb ram. i know it's a bit outdated but i wanted to know if $700 is a good price. i think it is bcause the 8th generation intel chips have more than doubled in price in the netherlands. per example the i5 8400 was $180 a month ago, but is now $300. that's why im opting to buy a used pc with a cpu thats a bit older but still looks to perform very good

That is actually not a bad price! And even though it's outdated, those LGA1150 CPU's still perform very well. Sure they are missing a couple of new extensions and instructions, but unless your using the computer with those specialized software that take advantage of the new CPU instructions, you won't notice a difference. I'm using a 4670k and I can run pretty much anything on it, including VR, with no issues. Heck, if you don't get it, share the link and I'll buy it lol.

Of course that is now, and things change down the line. Getting newer hardware makes sense if you don't want to upgrade again 2 maybe 3 years down the line from this setup. But then again, it's recommended to upgrade at least every 3 - 5 years down the line...

but even if the cpu prices went back to normal, don't you think this is a pretty good deal?
