[SOLVED] should i buy an ex bitcoin mining card?

I saw an ad on craigslist of a guy selling his 1070 8gb cards for 100$ and he said they were well ventilated and never overclocked only used for 3 months in short bursts should i buy the card?

If you're able to personally verify that the card is 100% functional with no issues, I'd consider it. E.g. get him to show you it running some stress tests/benchmarks, make sure the scores are as they should be, the fans are working fine, etc.

Yeah you'd want to see it tested, although when buying used you should pretty much always see it stress tested before buying it if you want to be safe.

Buying mining cards in general isn't a big issue in my opinion.

Any graphics stress test works really. Furmark, 3dMark, any of the Unigine tests. the goal is to run the card at full load and make sure that its stable and that it doesn't overheat.
