Which is the best for me i5 8400 or ryzen 2600x ?
I’m want to do gaming/streaming/editing/recording
(Not at the same time of course)
(Editing is quite important to me but gaming is my priority of course )
I have a evga 1070ti
16gb of ram
And for the motherboard I plan to go with an aorus (but who cares)
Thx

Solution
just some my thoughts:
2600x is generally better for professional workload, given that the software is tuned for take advantage of the extra cores.

I have a 1600 and have put together a 2600 for friend. general gaming performance is excellent on these CPU for 1080p. I do have a older intel system (4.8Ghz 6600k, and I can't tell the performance apart without the fps counter, 6c12t do help a lot when you are streaming and gaming at the same time)

I like the fact that you can tweak more settings in ryzen platform. one note, make sure you get a 3000/3200Mhz ram to pair with the ryzen.

so I would suggest ryzen over intel.

I was also wondering if there were any bug or problems that I could encounter if I choose ryzen and I was wondering if the i5 8400 would be good for streaming games like Fortnite for example but without having to lower my settings ?

depending the type of memory you have, likely it can be oc-ed above 2666, just make sure that you get a b450/x470 board. which supports 2000 gen ryzen and offer better ram compatibility out of the box.
I think MSI board has better memory support in their ryzen lineup.

believe it or not, the best motherboard for memory overclocking is the mid/high range itx boards.

they got great vrm, only 2 ram slot and reasonably priced. of course, they are lacking in additional pcie slots, sata ports, and such.
