Should I buy an Intel Xeon for my server?

I'm building a small home server on a budget. It will never be online for more than a few weeks at a time, and will only be used by people I know (will be running a server for Minecraft or some other low-spec game).
Will a Xeon CPU give any significant benefit to this setup?
Or will I be fine to just buy something else?
