Hello, i live in Indonesia and i want to ask a question about motherboard (This is my first time to write on this forum).

Because the limited option on the market (i'm not buying from overseas since the shipping is way too expensive), i don't know which one i should buy
(my current mobo was damaged so i want buy another mobo *i finally got some excuse/reason to upgrade my PC at the end of the year)

In my country, the price gap between X570 and b550 was not really big (around $10-$20 depend on which brand) *excluding top tier brand x570 like rog crosshair, aorus extreme/master,etc.

The most selling and ready on stock for x570 are:
- Asrock X570 PG4 & X570 Steel Legend AX (the rest is either there's no stock on the store/the distributor is holding their stock/used mobo) *excluding $300-$400 price range

B550 all of them were almost available (ready on stock)

Should i buy X570 or B550 if the price gap was not really huge at the same price range?
(my budget is below $200 for mobo)

Thank you

*here's my current rig
CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x3D
GPU: RX 6600xt
Mobo: Asrock B450 Steel Legend
Storage : Klevv SSD 500GB (forgot which one)
Ram: Klevv Bolt ddr4 16GB

If it is only $10 to $20 for the higher tier chipset board then might as well.

I want to upgrade my mobo (Because the current is damaged) while i want to experience the gen 4 SSD (since I want to add another storage *already have 1 nvme)

Hmm in terms of Indonesia currency, the good 550 one is around or beyond $200, and the price gap is not really big

for example x570 Aorus Pro/elite in here is have similar price with b550 rog strix-F Gaming (the difference is around $20-$30 depends on the store)

if i want cheaper option, b550M is the cheapest one in here, but i don't want B550M. That's why I'm in dillema since the price is not really big (if the gap around $100-$200 i can consider to take the one within my budget)

bigger is never better, don't get confused
but that's exactly how I'm confused, since the option is limited in here (the market). Like within the same price range which one should I choose (its different if the price gap is beyond $100)

should i take x570 just because lets say i would add more storage/SSD?
or should i just take b550 just because its new gen of mobo

I said the 550 has nothing to envy from the 570, as long as there are good ones vrm on the motherboard and you don't have problems with the processor you have. The moment you say there are 550 mb available, you choose and take.
In the first computer that I have there is a B550 Taichi , I don't change it even with the best 570 that exists

B550 is a good chipset I'm using it as a gaming rig no issues

Asus tuf b550 micro Atx ( non WiFi model) isy board I use a network cable so no need for wifi

I used a gigabyte Aorus B550 elite ax v2 for a few years, really nice stable board.

I found it limited wrt USB sockets on the rear panel otherwise it covered all bases. I can’t speak for PCIe 4 on that board, I had a 3900x CPU. That said, with my current build, the newer PCIe variants are a nice to have as opposed to necessary. The absolute max speed is only really seen for serial data, contiguous data. Random writes bring speeds down considerably negating the greater bandwidth.

So is it worth taking 550 if it's the same price as x570?
Thx bro, I'll consider the option since the good b550 (Gigabyte/Asus/MSI) here is way more expensive than the x570 steel legend/pg4 *the only x570 in stock on the market, and my budget is limited while the option was also limited.

Make a list of motherboards you are considering that fit your budget. Look at the board's product page on the manufacturer's website. Compare the motherboard's specifications, so the number of m2 slots, USB ports, Audio codec, fan headers, networking, etc.
Pick the board with the features you need at the price you are happy to pay.
